COLONIAL AMERICAN HISTORY
THE MUSICAL HAMILTON
An American Musical, it's a musical theatre production. Specifically, one that tells the story of an orphaned boy who grows up to be a forgotten American Founding Father. It tells about Alexander Hamilton and his ascent out of poverty and to power against the backdrop of the American War of Independence.
SPIRTUALS
Songs sung by slaves to express joy, sorrow, inspiration
or hope. They were passed down from generation to
generation. Some songs had "codes" to help with
escape to the north.
HARMONY
A partner song is when you can put two songs together
and their harmony fits/sounds good together.
HAND JIVE
Keep the beat or play a rhythm. No instruments? Use your hands. This was used during Colonial times as an accompaniment when singing some songs.
PRACTICE YOUR OWN HAND PATTERNS.
CAN YOU MAKE YOUR OWN PATTERN?
